MAYS LANDING, N.J. (Sept. 27, 2018) – Atlantic City Electric continued its support for local community organizations through its 13th annual Atlantic City Electric Golf Classic, a golf outing held this year at Galloway National Golf Club in Galloway, New Jersey. This year's event raised more than $200,000 for three South Jersey nonprofit organizations - Conserve Wildlife Foundation, Ranch Hope, Inc. and the Val Skinner Foundation-LIFE LPGA Pros in the Fight -- to help fund their local missions in supporting youth development, breast cancer education and protecting diverse wildlife across the region.
Since its inception in 2006, the Atlantic City Electric Golf Classic has raised $1.8 million for 18 local nonprofit organizations in southern New Jersey. The funding, which is provided by Atlantic City Electric's parent company foundation, PHI Community Foundation, has helped support many local programs, including those that provide youth mentoring, breast cancer awareness, support abused or neglected children, help struggling individuals and families achieve self sufficiency, and celebrate the achievements of children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Atlantic City Electric is committed to community involvement and being a good corporate citizen for the communities where its employees live and work. In 2017, Atlantic City Electric contributed more than $1 million to local nonprofits, while its employees volunteered more than 14,200 hours to help hundreds of organizations throughout southern New Jersey.
