Atlantic City Electric Customers Must Take Action NOW!

Company urges customers during New Jersey Utility Assistance Week to secure millions in remaining assistance funds.

MAYS LANDING, N.J. (April 18, 2023) – Atlantic City Electric is making another push to encourage customers to secure millions of dollars in energy assistance funding still available to supplement payment of their energy bills. New Jersey Utility Assistance Week is April 17 – 21 and the company is hoping customers will take action before temperatures climb and account balances become a bigger challenge. Only 9,599 Atlantic City Electric customers have taken action to secure assistance funding so far this year.

Atlantic City Electric is committed to helping every customer meet their energy needs. The company works closely with its community partners to connect customers with grants and programs to ensure every customer stays connected with available assistance.

"We are committed to working with our customers and understand that expenses go well beyond that of an energy bill," said Morlon Bell-Izzard, senior vice president and chief customer officer for Pepco Holdings, which includes Atlantic City Electric. "By securing energy assistance and taking advantage of the millions of dollars available, we can help customers stay connected as they manage the rising prices for products and services they use daily."

"New Jersey offers a wide range of assistance programs to help residents pay their water, electric and gas utility bills and we want those in need to take full advantage of these resources," said New Jersey Board of Public Utilities President, Joseph L. Fiordaliso. "As we mark Utility Assistance Week, now is a great time to remind people that we are here to help. Anyone who is having difficulty paying their bills, please contact your utility to set up a deferred payment plan and visit the BPU's website for information on the State's assistance plans."

Atlantic City Electric has helped thousands of customers with individualized payment arrangements, by providing tips and information about how to save energy and money and works closely with its community partners, connecting customers with helpful state and federal energy assistance resources. In 2022, more than 35,000 customers were connected to over $88 million in energy assistance.
