Atlantic City Electric Celebrates National Lineworker Appreciation Day

MAYS LANDING, N.J. (July 10, 2017) - In celebration of National Lineworker Appreciation Day, Atlantic City Electric (ACE) salutes the men and women who work tirelessly, day-in and day-out, to provide safe and reliable energy to customers across the region.

Today celebrates hundreds of overhead and underground line workers who operate and maintain our electric infrastructure. We count on our employees to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week, sometimes in challenging conditions including holidays to keep the lights on for customers.

"Our lineworkers are critical to delivering on our promise to safely and reliably power the homes, businesses and economies of the customers and communities we serve," said Tyler Anthony, Pepco Holdings senior vice president and chief operating officer. "Their work does not go unnoticed, and we ask everyone to join us as we celebrate them."

To honor the nation's lineworkers, a resolution was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives designating July 10, 2017 as National Lineworker Appreciation Day. Atlantic City Electric joins utility companies across the nation, including Exelon sister utilities BGE, ComEd, Delmarva Power, PECO and Pepco, in honoring all utility workers - both on the lines and in the field.

Join utilities nationwide in saying thank you by using the hashtag #thankalineworker on social media.
