Atlantic City Electric Restores Power to Vast Majority of Customers Impacted by Winter Storm Stella

MAYS LANDING, N.J. (March 15, 2017) - Atlantic City Electric (ACE) has restored power to approximately 30,000 customers since the onset of Winter Storm Stella. Extreme winter weather, including high winds, rain, snow and sleet impacted many areas throughout the company's service territory, specifically Gloucester and Salem counties.

The majority of customers will be restored by 11:59 p.m. tonight and all remaining customers are expected to be restored by noon Thursday. At peak, approximately 16,500 customers were out of service due to the storm.

ACE is partnering with the American Red Cross Southern Shore Chapter and County Offices of Emergency Management. A warming center has been established in Gloucester County at the county's Library in Mullica Hill located at 389 Wolfert Station Road until 9 p.m. tonight and again from 7:30 a.m. to noon tomorrow.

"Our teams have been working around the clock to restore service and have made significant progress in restoring customers affected by Winter Storm Stella," said Vince Maione, Atlantic City Electric region president. "Since we began repairing the damage to our electric system caused by Winter Storm Stella, we have restored power to most of our customers who experienced outages. We thank our customers for their continued patience during this restoration effort."

Due to continued high winds that continue to impact the ACE region, there is a possibility that additional isolated outages may occur.

Atlantic City Electric has approximately 125 internal linemen and 356 overhead line contractors and tree trimming personnel supporting the restoration effort. PECO, ACE's sister utility, sent 113 additional contract field personnel and 12 internal linemen to assist in the restoration process.

Restoration efforts are prioritized by first addressing damages to critical electric infrastructure including transmission lines and substation equipment.

The safety of our customers and crews is paramount. Customers are urged to avoid working crews and to stay away from all downed wires, even if they don't appear to be energized.

We encourage customers to continue to report all outages. Outages and downed wires should be reported to 1-800-833-7476, through www.atlanticcityelectric.com or through the mobile app, available for downloading at atlanticcityelectric.com/mobileapp. Customers should request a call back to verify their power has been restored.
