Atlantic City Electric Mobilizes Comprehensive, Strategic Response to Winter Storm Stella to Restore Power

MAYS LANDING, N.J. (March. 14, 2017) - Atlantic City Electric (ACE) has launched its response plan in the wake of Winter Storm Stella to restore power as quickly as possible to its customers.

Atlantic City Electric crews are actively assessing storm damage across the system, allowing ACE to strategically target power restoration efforts. In addition to approximately 125 internal linemen, Atlantic City Electric has an additional 356 overhead line contractors and tree-trimming personnel assisting in the restoration effort.

"Our first priority is the safety of our customers and crews. We urge customers to stay clear of wires hanging loose from poles or lying on the ground," said Vince Maione, Atlantic City Electric region president. "We've launched our restoration fleets into the affected communities and they will work around the clock until everyone's power is restored."

In Atlantic City Electric's service area, Winter Storm Stella is delivering extreme weather activity including high winds, rain and sleet. As of 11:30 A.M., approximately 13,000 Atlantic City Electric customers were without power. Currently, four Atlantic City Electric transmission lines are out

A preliminary damage assessment process must be completed before an estimated restoration time can be generated. As conditions permit, crews will work around the clock until service is restored to all affected customers.

Customers' outage reports are vital to Atlantic City Electric's restoration efforts. Customers are asked to report outages at www.atlanticcityelectric.com or by calling 1-800-833-7476 and following the prompts on the automated system. If reporting an emergency or another life-threatening situation such as downed wires, customers should immediately call 1-800-833-7476 and follow the appropriate prompts. Multiple call center sites have been staffed to support customer service efforts and our systems have been networked together for expanded capacity.

Atlantic City Electric also recommends, when reporting an outage, customers request a call back. Call backs allow the company to notify customers when work in their area is completed and they also help Atlantic City Electric locate outages that may be specific to customers' homes.
