Atlantic City Electric Celebrates Utility Workers on National Line Worker Appreciation Day

MAYS LANDING, N.J. (July 8, 2016) - In celebration of National Line Worker Appreciation Day, Atlantic City Electric salutes the men and women who work tirelessly, day-in and day-out, to provide safe and reliable energy services to customers in New Jersey. Atlantic City Electric celebrates its more than 300 utility workers who operate and maintain the electric system and respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week, often in challenging conditions, and on weekends and holidays to keep the lights on for customers.

"Our field employees are dedicated to keeping the power flowing to our customers on a daily basis, and on those occasions when storms or other problems cause an interruption in service, they work tirelessly to get the lights back on as quickly and as safely as possible," said Vince Maione, Atlantic City Electric region president.

To honor the nation's line workers, a resolution was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives designating July 10, 2016 as National Line Worker Appreciation Day. Atlantic City Electric joins utility companies across the nation, including Exelon sister utilities BGE, ComEd, Delmarva Power, PECO and Pepco, in honoring all utility workers - both on the lines and in the field.

Join utilities nationwide in saying thank you by using the hashtag #thankalineworker on social media.
