MAYS LANDING, N.J. (April 25, 2016) - Across the Pepco Holdings footprint, hundreds of company employees participated in various Earth Day activities. Closer to home, approximately 50 Atlantic City Electric employees participated in the 26th annual Atlantic County Utilities Authority's (ACUA) Earth Day Festival April 24. The event, which promotes recycling, renewable energy and conservation, included live demonstrations, environmental-themed entertainment, workshops and more than 150 exhibitors.
"We are proud to support ACUA's Earth Day Festival again this year," said Vince Maione, Atlantic City Electric region president. "Our goal is to help promote a healthy and sustainable environment. This event is a fun and interactive way for people to learn about conserving resources and how to better care for our planet."
Atlantic City Electric volunteers provided attendees information on vegetation management, underground facility protection, clean energy programs, environmental initiatives, emergency management and safety, and information on energy assistance and efficiency, among other topics. Event attendees also had the opportunity to check out Atlantic City Electric vehicles on site including a hybrid bucket truck and an environmentally friendly bucket truck with a battery powered hydraulic system.
