The Greater Atlantic City Chamber has named Charlie Wimberg, Atlantic City Electric region vice president, as its 2014 Volunteer of the Year. The Chamber designates its Volunteer of the Year based on his or her exceptional dedication and contribution to the Chamber's mission.

"Charlie epitomizes what volunteerism is all about," said Victor Nappen, chairman, Greater Atlantic City Chamber. "He has been extraordinarily generous with his time and his leadership has been invaluable to the Chamber in general and to our advocacy efforts in particular. We are very proud to honor Charlie in this manner and he is most deserving of this recognition."

"Reliability and stability are important to business success and that is what Charlie and Atlantic City Electric provide to the Chamber and to the business community," said Joseph Kelly, president, Greater Atlantic City Chamber. "Additionally, as co-chair of the Chamber's Business Advocacy Committee, Charlie brings leadership and provides vital counsel."

Wimberg serves on the board of directors, the executive committee and co-chairs the Chamber's advocacy committee. According to the Chamber, he has been instrumental in solidifying support from Atlantic City Electric for important Chamber programs and activities that inform and empower Chamber members and the entire Atlantic County region.
