MAYS LANDING, N.J. - For the ninth consecutive year, the Arbor Day Foundation, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection State Forestry Service and the National Association of State Foresters have recognized Atlantic City Electric as a Tree Line USA utility for ensuring proper tree pruning and vegetation management, employee training, tree planting, public education, and for having a tree-based energy conservation program.
"The Tree Line USA Award is a testament to the quality vegetation management practices implemented to improve service reliability for our customers while helping protect the environment," said Vince Maione, Atlantic City Electric region president.Tree Line USA utilities:
• Adhere to industry standards for pruning, vegetation management, planting, removing, trenching and tunneling near trees.• Provide employees and contract workers proper training at least annually in best practices.• Ensure tree planting and public education programs are available to customers; demonstrating proper tree planting, placement, and pruning while expanding the tree canopy in the community.• Sponsor or participate in annual Arbor Day events including collaboration with community groups.
