Customers can Save Money by Saving Energy
MAYS LANDING, NJ. - Atlantic City Electric asks all of its customers to conserve energy on Wednesday, July 17, as an increased demand for electricity throughout the Mid-Atlantic region is anticipated. Although the power supply in the region is expected to be sufficient to meet anticipated high demand, customers are encouraged to conserve energy.
For customers participating in Atlantic City Electric's voluntary Energy Wise Rewards and Peak Savers programs a conservation period will be called from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. This means that Atlantic City Electric will cycle the participants' air conditioner compressors off and on for short intervals during these hours. Because the air conditioner fans will continue to run, however, most customers will not notice a temperature change in their home, and those who do should experience only a 1- to 3-degree change. It may take up to a half-hour after the event ends at 6 p.m. for air conditioners to resume normal operations.
Customers can learn more about Energy Wise Rewards by calling 1-866- 355-4229 or visiting atlanticcityelectric.com/rewards.
