Donates $50,000 to Red Cross Disaster Relief
Pleasantville, N.J., March 12, 2013 - Atlantic City Electric recently presented $50,000 to the American Red Cross Southern Shore Chapter in support of Red Cross disaster relief at Atlantic City Electric's headquarters in Mays Landing. The presentation was made during the Red Cross's Hurricane Sandy Appreciation Event held to thank organizations who contributed to Red Cross disaster relief during Hurricane Sandy. Atlantic City Electric previously also donated $25,000 to support the Red Cross after the Derecho wind storm in summer 2012.
During the event, the Red Cross presented Atlantic City Electric with the Henry Dunant Society Award, given to organizations that make significant contributions to support the Red Cross's efforts in providing disaster relief to those who need it.
"Atlantic City Electric is a longtime partner with the local Red Cross especially in times of disaster and response," said Carol Cohen, Executive Director, American Red Cross Southern Shore Chapter. "We are extremely grateful their generous financial support. Atlantic City Electric truly embodies the spirit of a community partner. This generous gift will help the Red Cross continue to answer the call in times of need."
