Atlantic City Electric's Matthew Simons awarded Green Community Achievement Award

MAYS LANDING, N.J. - Matthew Simons, of Galloway Township, Senior Staff Forester, Atlantic City Electric, was recently awarded the 2012 Green Community Achievement Award - Individual Category at the New Jersey Shade Tree Federation's Recognition and Awards dinner.

Simons was recognized for his work on the New Jersey Community Forestry Council to advance Community Forestry in New Jersey, and for his leadership with Atlantic City Electric in utility forestry through implementing the Arbor Day Foundation's Tree Line USA standards.

"This award is a testament to the quality vegetation management program implemented by Atlantic City Electric to improve service reliability for our customers, while respecting the environment of the communities we serve," said Simons.

The New Jersey Green Community Achievement Awards recognize individuals or groups whose outstanding efforts have greatly contributed to the field of urban and community forestry. The award is co-sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Forestry Service; New Jersey Community Forestry Council; and the New Jersey Tree Foundation.
