MAYS LANDING, N.J. - Adalberto "Bert" Lopez, of Atlantic City, Public Affairs Manager, Atlantic City Electric, was recently honored with the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award by the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey's Council of Black Faculty and Staff during the Council's 31^st Annual Scholarship Awards dinner. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who dedicates time and service to the community and to the organization for which he or she works.

"I am truly honored to receive this distinguished award from the Stockton Council of Black Faculty and Staff," said Lopez. "I am proud to be recognized by this organization that works diligently to mentor, educate and counsel minority students."

Lopez has served Atlantic City Electric in a variety of roles for more than 30 years. Lopez is the producer and host of a weekly television show "Latino Motion with Bert Lopez," which airs on NBC 40. The program highlights issues impacting the local South Jersey Latino community, while advancing the understanding of Latino culture and contributions to society. Lopez is past President and founder of the Hispanic Alliance of Atlantic County. For 15 years under his leadership, the "Festival Latino Americano" promoted Latino cultural heritage and raised thousands of dollars in scholarships. Lopez was the first Latino elected to the Atlantic City Board of Education and the first Latino to serve as President of its board. He is past Chairman of the Atlantic/Cumberland Chapter of the American Red Cross. Lopez has served on numerous organizational boards including AtlantiCare Behavioral Health for which he served 25 years, including 10 years as chairman. Lopez has received numerous awards and recognitions including the "Hometown Hero" Award by the United Way of Atlantic County and "Citizen of the Year" by the National Association of Social Workers.
