Atlantic City Electric Walkers Raise Funds for American Heart Association

Volunteers Contribute to Successful Spring Event

MAYS LANDING, N.J. - More than 240 walkers from Atlantic City Electric recently raised more than $15,000 for the 2012 Southern New Jersey Heart Walk, contributing with many other organizations and individuals to make this year's event a success.

Vince Maione, Atlantic City Electric Region President and Chairman of the event thanked everyone who contributed their time, effort and dollars.

"The enthusiasm and support from all of the participants is much appreciated and made for a great event," Maione said. "It was an honor and a very rewarding experience to chair this year's Heart Walk," he added.

Funds raised for the Heart Walk support the American Heart Association in its fight against heart disease and stroke. As of May 30, donations have totaled more than $285,000. Although the walk occurred on May 19 in Ocean City, contributions will continue to be accepted through June 22. The event goal is to raise a total of $310,000.

Those still planning to make a donation should mark it with their company or organization's name, their name and mail it to: Southern NJ Spring Heart Walk, American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ, 08691.
