Non-Profit Receives Funds to Support Local Athletes
MAYS LANDING, N.J. - Atlantic City Electric recently presented a check for $38,000 to Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ). The presentation was made during the organization's 2012 State Floor Hockey Tournament at Stockton College in Galloway, N.J.
This donation is one of three where Atlantic City Electric has donated to non-profit organizations selected to receive a combined total of approximately $115,000 from the utility's Sixth Annual Fall Charity Golf Classic. Other recipients include the Arc of Atlantic County and Gateway Community Action Partnership.
"Since 2006, the PHI Community Foundation's Atlantic City Electric Fall Charity Golf Classic has donated more than $700,000 to charities throughout the region," said Atlantic City Electric Region Vice President Charlie Wimberg. "We are honored to support this organization's year-round efforts to provide sports training and athletic competitions to children and adults with intellectual disabilities."
