Atlantic City Electric Earns Community Leadership Award

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner Recognizes National Mentoring Month

MAYS LANDING, N.J. - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Burlington, Camden & Gloucester Counties is recognizing Atlantic City Electric and various honorees during their Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on. The utility was selected for this prestigious award for its volunteer efforts, coupled with its advocacy and financial support. Atlantic City Electric's Public Affairs Manager Tom Reilly will attend the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at the Coastline in Cherry Hill, N.J., Jan. 19, to accept the award.

"There are so many people that help us change the lives of children, we like to take a moment to recognize them every year during National Mentoring Month," said Robert Jakubowski, CEO for the organization. "Our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner is a "thank you" to all of the mentors in our program and we also get a chance to highlight some specific contributions."

Atlantic City Electric is pleased to support this worthwhile effort, said Susan Coan, Atlantic City Electric Region Vice President. "We support the belief that every child has the ability to succeed and thrive in life," she said. "Mentoring relationships contribute to brighter futures, better schools and stronger communities for all and we appreciate the opportunity to assist with that mission."

For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has aimed to help children reach their potential through one-to-one relationships with mentors that have a measurable impact on youth.
