Customers Asked to Be Prepared
MAYS LANDING, N.J. - Atlantic City Electric is closely monitoring the approach of the mixture of rain and snow, which is expected to reach the company's service territory Saturday . In some areas, weather forecasts are calling for the potential of several inches of heavy wet snow, which when combined with leaves that remain on trees will add to the weight of the limbs leading to possible contact with poles and wires and resulting in power outages.
Atlantic City Electric has scheduled additional crews including tree trimming crews and support personnel to work throughout the storm. In addition, extra crews are on call to assist with the restoration effort as needed.
If Power Goes Out
Customers are asked to call Atlantic City Electric at 1-800-833-7476 to report an outage, or if they see a downed or damaged power line, even if their neighbors have already called the company. Atlantic City Electric 's automated outage reporting system is the most effective way to report an outage because it immediately feeds information into computers that rapidly identify problem areas and dispatch repair crews, so that power can be restored as quickly as possible.
