Company Partners to Connect Community Need with Resources
MAYS LANDING, N.J . - Atlantic City Electric partnered with the People For People Foundation to present a "Hands Across the County" Energy Information Forum on Tues., Feb. 22, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The forum was held at the Gloucester County Library, 389 Wolfert Station Road in Mullica Hill, N.J.
The goal of the forum was to provide nonprofit organizations with information, answer energy related questions on third-party suppliers and give an update on the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
Alita Corbett, Customer & Community Relations Manager said, "It's a great feeling to team up with People For People, providing information on state and federal assistance programs that will help residents in the communities we serve meet their energy costs during these challenging times."
Atlantic City Electric customers having difficulty paying their bills can seek help from one or more of the energy assistance programs listed below:
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides help with winter energy bills for low-income New Jersey residents. For more information, call 1-800-510-3102 or visit www.energyassistance.nj.gov.
Universal Service Fund provides year round help with electric bills for low-income New Jersey residents. Call 1-866-240-1347 or visit www.energyassistance.nj.gov.
NJ SHARES provides year round help for New Jersey residents experiencing short-term financial problems and do not qualify for LIHEAP. Call 1-866-657-4273 or visit www.njshares.org. The following documents should be submitted at the time of application: proof of income (last four consecutive weeks prior to application date), proof of identification, the most recent energy bill, and a signed application.
