Wet Snow Can Bring Tree Limbs into Contact With Power Lines Causing Outages
Customers Should Be Prepared
MAYS LANDING, N.J . - Atlantic City Electric is prepared for the latest wintry mix that is predicted to hit the Atlantic City Electric service territory Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Atlantic City Electric will coordinate its power restoration efforts with area emergency management personnel.
Customers are asked to call Atlantic City Electric at 1-800-833-7476 to report an outage or a downed or damaged power line.
Atlantic City Electric's automated outage reporting system is the most effective way to report an outage because it immediately feeds information into computers that rapidly identify problem areas and dispatch repair crews, so that power can be restored as quickly as possible.
Once the storm subsides, crews will survey the electric system to assess the damage. As with plowing roads, it is not possible to clear side streets before the main roads are cleared. To that end, in the event our system is damaged by severe weather, Atlantic City Electric will repair equipment that will restore the largest numbers of customers first.
