Atlantic City Electric Receives NAACP Image Award

Utility Public Affairs Manager Recognized for Community Service

MAYS LANDING, N.J. - The Gloucester County National Association for the Advancement of Color People (NAACP) awarded Atlantic City Electric its most prestigious "Image Award." This award recognizes a company or individual for their community service. The award was accepted by Atlantic City Electric Public Affairs Manager Adalberto "Bert" Lopez during the NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner & Image Awards at the RiverWinds Restaurant in West Deptford, New Jersey.

Bert Lopez has worked for Atlantic City Electric for more than 30 years. In his current position, he is responsible for customer, community and government relations for Gloucester, Cumberland and Salem Counties. Over the last few years, Bert has been extensively involved in many events throughout Gloucester County. His service record speaks to his passion for community service.

Bert is the Chairman of the Cumberland County Economic Development Council and a board member of AtlantiCare Behavioral Health and AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. He is a former President and founder of the Hispanic Alliance of Atlantic County and former President of the Atlantic City Board of Education. Bert currently resides in Atlantic City.

Bert's outreach continuously fosters a good relationship between the company and the customers we serve," said Atlantic City Electric Region Vice President Robert Revelle. "Through his involvement, he is in the trenches making a difference, day in and day out."

The NAACP is one of the oldest and most influential civil rights organizations in the US. Its mission is "to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and discrimination."
