Utility Public Affairs Manager Named "Volunteer of the Year"

MAYS LANDING, N.J. - Atlantic City Electric received The Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year award which recognizes a company that provides ongoing support to the chamber. Also recognized was Atlantic City Electric Public Affairs Manager Ronnie Town, who received the Volunteer of the Year Award for her leadership in many of the chamber's volunteer activities. The presentations were made at the chamber's Annual Meeting and Installation Dinner on Oct. 7 at the Grand Hotel in Cape May.

Ronnie Town has worked for Atlantic City Electric for more than 26 years. In her current position, she is responsible for customer, community and government relations for Cape May County. Throughout her career, Ronnie's involvement in Cape May County has been extensive. Currently, she is Chair of the Cape May County Child Placement Review Board, Secretary of the American Red Cross Southern Shore Chapter, Immediate Past Chairwoman of the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce, Vice-President of the Atlantic City Electric Quarter Century Club, and Board member for the Ocean City Regional Chamber. Ronnie currently resides in Marmora.

"She exemplifies our core values as a woman of integrity, accountability and excellence by volunteering endless hours and establishing longstanding relationships throughout communities we serve."

The mission of the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce is to be the voice of the business community by promoting tourism and business development through legislative advocacy, marketing services, networking opportunities and education programs for its members.
