MAYS LANDING, N.J. - Atlantic City Electric reminds residential customers that as the winter heating season progresses, it is important to take control of energy usage.
"We recognize that the cold weather we are experiencing is already affecting our customers' bills," said Vince Maione, Atlantic City Electric Region President. "In order to stay warm, people are using more electricity."
In response to the growing demands on states and families for much needed relief, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently released nearly $500 million in additional Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding.
LIHEAP helps eligible families pay for home heating, cooling, and other energy costs, as well as helping to weatherize eligible families' homes. The funds are in addition to basic LIHEAP funding that states receive automatically. For New Jersey, it means an additional $18.3 million in LIHEAP funding.
Atlantic City Electric customers in need of energy assistance and/or a payment arrangement can call the company's Customer Care line at 1-800-642-3780.
