Atlantic City Electric Urges Motorists to Drive Safely in Wake of Storm

Be Mindful of Utility Crews; Minimize Chance of Pole Accident

MAYS LANDING, N.J. - Atlantic City Electric crews continue to work to restore power to customers who have lost service during this weekend's winter storm. While we work to restore power, we urge motorists who must drive to be extra cautious to ensure safety for themselves and those utility crews who are working near area roadways. Safe driving also minimizes the chances of motorists hitting utility poles, which can happen along icy roads after winter storms. To report power outages, call 1-800-833-7476.

Atlantic City Electric also reminds customers to follow some important safety tips, such as:

  • Never attempt to remove trees or limbs from any utility line. Assume all objects touching a power line are energized.
  • If using a portable generator during a power outage, always operate it outside, away from doors and windows to avoid deadly carbon monoxide fumes.

Additional safety information may be found at www.atlanticcityelectric.com.
