Township Native Recognized for Service, Dedication and Leadership
MAYS LANDING, N.J. - Winslow Township officials recently honored Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI) Chairman Joseph M. Rigby, recognizing his outstanding service, dedication and leadership. A proclamation was presented by Winslow Township Mayor SueAnn Metzner during the township committee's general meeting.
The mayor recognized Rigby for his successful leadership in business and support of the community. "You don't get to the top without giving extra effort and a lot of work," she said. "We want to recognize the efforts of Winslow Township's Joe Rigby. He has truly gone far."
Rigby, a native of the township, said he was humbled by the recognition. "I'm very proud to say I was born and raised in Winslow and that I am a graduate of Edgewood Regional High School."
Township Committeewoman Marie Lawrence announced that the proclamation honors Rigby in his new role as Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer of PHI as well as his capable leadership in numerous other roles throughout the company; his established model for emulating and setting a standard of excellence toward which others might strive; being an esteemed member of the Winslow Township; building a distinguished career and for dedicating invaluable time and energy to his community, and earning a reputation as an executive of integrity, dedication, and vision.
Township Committeeman Russell Bates said Rigby serves as a strong role model. "We like to see people move to the top," said Bates, a former teacher of Rigby. "A lot of people look at you and say, if Joe can do it, I can too."
