MAYS LANDING, N.J. - Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI), the parent company of Delmarva Power, Atlantic City Electric and Pepco, hosted more than 100 social service agency representatives from Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and Washington, D.C., at a daylong summit at the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel in Atlantic City on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

The summit gave service providers valuable information and tools to better assist low-income households, many of whom have difficulty paying their energy bills.

"It is imperative for all of our utility brands to continue to build solid relationships with the folks who are on the front lines of helping those customers in need. This summit is central to that goal," said Charles R. Dickerson, PHI's Vice President of Customer Care.

The summit included workshops, exhibits and presentations from advocates at the local, state and national levels. This year's keynote speaker was Jim Jacob, New Jersey Shares Executive Director, a leading low-income advocate.

Many of the workshops addressed the challenges of dealing with energy prices that are higher than they were several years ago. While there were programs that help customers learn to use energy wisely and obtain financial assistance to pay energy bills, the goal of the summit was to make sure this information reaches those who need it.
