Utility Executive Ken Parker Receives 2009 Business Award

NJ AFL-CIO Recognizes Atlantic City Electric VP for Leadership

MAYS LANDING, N.J. - Ken Parker, Vice President, Public Policy for Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI), the parent company of Atlantic City Electric, was recently honored with the Business Award by the New Jersey AFL-CIO. The award was presented at the 16th AFL-CIO Annual Labor Awards Ceremony held at the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City.

Parker had served as Atlantic City Electric President since 2005. He was promoted to Vice President, Public Policy on June 1.

"This year's Business Award recognizes Ken Parker for his leadership at Atlantic City Electric and his commitment to maintaining a positive and productive work environment for employees," said Charles Wowkanech, New Jersey State AFL-CIO President. "The award is given as a tribute to employers who respect and value all workers. Ken has a proven record of supporting workers and, for this reason, he has been selected to receive the prestigious Business Award."

Joseph M. Rigby, Chairman of the Board of PHI, President and Chief Executive Officer, praised Parker for his dedicated service to the community and the company. "We are proud of the leadership that Ken has displayed," Rigby said. "He exemplifies our core values as a man of integrity, accountability and excellence."

Parker joined Atlantic City Electric in 1986 and has held various positions of increasing responsibility, including Director of Government Affairs for New Jersey; Vice President and President, Atlantic City Electric Region; and currently, Vice President, Public Policy, PHI Inc. In his new role, he is responsible for developing PHI's position on public policy issues and reconciling federal and state issues throughout the company's service area comprising southern New Jersey, Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland and the Washington metropolitan area. He is a graduate of Delaware State University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Parker lives in Winslow Township with his wife Sheri, daughter Lauren and son, Kenny Jr.
