Community Food Bank of NJ To Receive Funds Supporting Local Families in Need
MAYS LANDING, N.J. - Atlantic City Electric recently announced the Community Food Bank of NJ, Southern Branch, as a primary beneficiary of its Fourth Annual Fall Charity Golf Classic. Proceeds from this year's event also will be donated to community food banks throughout southern New Jersey. The announcement was made at the Food Bank's Third Annual Blue Jean Ball.
"Since its inception in 2006, the PHI Community Foundation's Atlantic City Electric Fall Charity Golf Classic has raised more than $355,000 which has been donated to various charities throughout the region," said Atlantic City Electric Region Vice President Charlie Wimberg. "We recognize the vital role that food banks play in feeding families so we look forward to supporting their efforts to fight hunger and malnutrition throughout South Jersey."
"This donation will enable us to help many more people in these hard and challenging times," said Evelyn Benton, Branch Director, Community Food Bank of NJ, Southern Branch. "We greatly appreciate this recognition and are proud that Atlantic City Electric has chosen to support our efforts."
This year's title sponsor is Cooper Levenson and the platinum sponsors are Dickstein Shapiro, LLP; IBEW Local Union 351; Kline Construction and Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoades, LLP.
The 2009 Atlantic City Electric Fall Charity Golf Classic event will be held September 28 at the Seaview Resort and Spa in Galloway Township, New Jersey. Seaview is one of the premier golf facilities in the region.
