Atlantic City Electric Adjusts Meter Reading Schedules

Utility to Improve Efficiency of Reading Meters

MAYS LANDING, N.J. - Atlantic City Electric will change customer meter reading dates to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of meter reading.

Starting in May, as a result of increased customer growth in its service territory, the date that meters are read, bills are mailed and payments are due, will change for 337,000 of the utility's 545,000 customers. Customers affected by the change will receive a message on their May customer bills. Some customer due dates and meter reading dates will change twice. These customers will receive a message on both their May and June bills.

A normal billing cycle for Atlantic City Electric customers is 27 to 33 days. Customers whose accounts move outside of this range will receive a longer or shorter bill following a postcard informing them of the change. All affected direct debit customers will receive a letter notifying them of any changes. This letter will be sent prior to the May bill.

Atlantic City Electric will work with its customers to arrange payment options and to assure that any inconveniences arising from this change are minimized. For additional information, customers are encouraged to call our customer care center at 1-800-642-3780 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
