Company-sponsored Presentations Reached Thousands in 2008
MAYS LANDING, N.J. - As 2009 brings increased awareness of energy issues, Atlantic City Electric's Speakers Bureau program provides customers with a broad range of information on their energy concerns, giving up-to-date information from promoting energy assistance for low-income customers to energy conservation and renewable energy solutions.
"People have real concerns about our nation's energy future, and they want to help do their part to reduce energy use for a cleaner environment," said Ken Parker, Atlantic City Electric Region President. "I'm proud of the interest in our Speakers Bureau, and that it is so well-received among our customers."
The company's Speakers Bureau Program visits civic clubs and organizations, schools and community groups throughout its service territory. The program's purpose is to share information with Atlantic City Electric customers on a variety of subjects, such as electrical safety and energy conservation. Atlantic City Electric has more than 545,000 electric customers in southern New Jersey.
In 2008, the Atlantic City Electric Speakers Bureau, which is comprised of company employees, spoke to more than 11,500 people from more than 136 organizations throughout the company's service territory.
