Atlantic City Electric Donates $120,000 to New Jersey Audubon Society for Environmental Stewardship

MAYS LANDING, N.J. - Atlantic City Electric donated $120,000 to the New Jersey Audubon Society to support restoration of forest and wetland habitats for wildlife in South Jersey.

Thomas Gilmore, President, New Jersey Audubon Society, said the projects are part of a global effort to identify and conserve areas that are important for maintaining bird populations. A s forest and wetland habitats are lost to development, wildlife populations dwindle, something that these projects seek to prevent.

Local residents and other volunteers work with the New Jersey Audubon Society and participate in identifying, restoring and monitoring important bird areas and become advocates in their communities for good land stewardship.

"Atlantic City Electric is committed to the communities we serve. We appreciate the opportunity to donate this money to help the New Jersey Audubon Society and community volunteers in their efforts to enhance wildlife habitats in this area," said Charlie Wimberg, Vice President, Atlantic City Electric Region.
