Atlantic City Electric Region Vice President Charles Wimberg has been named to the Executive Board of the Hispanic Institute for Research and Development. The institute's mission is to enhance the social, economic and educational status of the Hispanic community by empowering its members, through education and orientation, to seek and obtain better career opportunities.
"Education is the foundation of opportunity," Wimberg said. "I am excited to be a part of an effort that is making a positive difference for so many."
The Institute, which is open to all, provides adult education programs including English as a Second Language (ESL) as well as other business and office skills to more than 3,000 adult students each year.
Wimberg is responsible for working with legislative, regulatory, government, business and community stakeholders in Atlantic, Cape May and Ocean counties. A resident of Galloway Township, he also is a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Southern New Jersey Board of Directors, William B. Kessler Memorial hospital Board of Directors, American Red Cross Atlantic/Cumberland Board of Directors, N. J. Utilities Association, N.J. Business and Industry Association and the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce, and a past member of the Galloway Township Youth Athletic Association and Police Athletic League. A graduate of Upsala College, Wimberg earned a Masters degree at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.
