Exceeds Old Peak Set in July 2002
MAY''S LANDING, N.J. - Driven in part by the extremely hot and humid weather our region has been experiencing this week, Atlantic City Electric's electric delivery system recorded a new system peak Tuesday, exceeding the old record which was nearly three years old.
On Tuesday, July 19, the company delivered 2,683 megawatts of electricity to customers on its system, which includes all or part of eight counties in southern New Jersey. This all-time peak occurred between the hours of 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. This exceeded the old record of 2,666 megawatts set on July 29, 2002.
