Atlantic City Electric Donates $44,000 to Special Olympics New Jersey

Company participates in Special Olympics Floor Hockey Tournament
MAYS LANDING, N.J. – Atlantic City Electric recently presented a check for $44,000 to Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ). The presentation was made during the organization’s 2013 State Floor Hockey Tournament at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, Pomona, New Jersey. More than 40 Atlantic City Electric employees and family members participated in the event which featured more than 200 athletes.
Through its seventh annual Charity Golf Classic, Atlantic City Electric donated $132,000 in 2012 to non-profit organizations including The Arc of Atlantic County; Gateway Community Action Partnership; and Special Olympics New Jersey.
“We are honored to support the Special Olympics in its efforts to provide sports training and athletic competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities,” said Ronnie Town, Senior Public Affairs Manager, Atlantic City Electric.
Since its inception in 2006, the Pepco Holdings, Inc. Community Foundation’s Atlantic City Electric Charity Golf Classic has raised more than $800,000 for nonprofits in South Jersey.
