Electric will remove a 138 kV double circuit lattice tower transmission line
and rebuild it with a single steel pole structure within the existing right of
way. The current transmission line and lattice towers are more than 80 years
old. A 230 kV transmission line will be installed on the south side of the
structure and a 138 kV transmission line will be installed on the north side of
the structure. The construction of the upgrades will be beneficial to customers
since both age and deteriorating conditions as well as reliability issues will
be addressed with the same transmission solution.
1.5 miles of the transmission line will traverse Upper Pittsgrove Township.
The map shows
where the existing line is located in Upper Pittsgrove Township.
Electric will rebuild the existing 1.5-mile lattice tower transmission line
with a single steel structure as part of a separate transmission line project that
is currently under construction.
Electric will construct a new terminal within the existing fence line and
connect the 230 kV transmission line to the Orchard Substation.
Atlantic City Electric completed minor electrical equipment upgrades within the existing fence
line of the Upper Pittsgrove Substation located within the township.
