We are taking steps to assure continued reliable service in your area by investing in transmission upgrades through the communities of Pine Hill, Gloucester Township and Washington Township. The transmission line improvements are needed to maintain customer reliability and meet demand for electricity in these municipalities and the surrounding area. Feel free to contact us online or call us toll free at 856-351-7395.
We will upgrade approximately 4.3 miles of existing transmission lines that connect the Pine Hill Substation in Clementon to the Terrace Substation in Washington Township. Upgrading the existing transmission lines will help modernize the electric system, improve the resiliency of the line during weather events and further improve the overall transmission capabilities of the line.
To meet new construction standards and improve the resiliency of the line, the transmission upgrades require taller and larger structures. Both steel and wood transmission poles will be used for this project.
We will rebuild an existing 69kV line. The new line will follow the same path as the existing line, which traverses an existing right-of-way and follows county roads between the two substations. The current structures will be replaced with either wood or steel poles.
Construction of the transmission line is scheduled to start in February 2017 with an expected completion of May, 2017.
